I needed to see an OBGYN after my move to Knoxville and thought one close to home would be the best, near downtown. The response I got from a downtown OBGYN office was that "pain during periods" was normal and I shouldn't need to schedule an appt. I went to Dr Brown, who is WONDERFUL, and happened to find a tumor. Is a tumor normal? Well, short story, Dr Brown operated on me (know your Dr AND surgeon!) and it's been 11 days. I feel great, almost 100% after a total abdominal hysterectomy. How many people can say that? He's wonderful, I highly recommend his office... oh, and his staff are some of the friendliest around!

Dr. Cottam is professional, friendly, caring, and proactive. She's helped me deal with infertility, pregnancy, and a miscarriage. She is an educator by nature and always makes sure your questions are answered. I compare all of my doctors to her. She's definitely set a very high standard that most medical professionals don't meet in this age of automation. She makes sure you feel welcome and cared for.
