Built at the end of the 1700s by William Blount, who held the lengthy title of Governor of the Territory of the United States South of the River Ohio, the Blount Mansion was a signal of both financial status and political power. Filled with antiques from the 18th and 19th centuries, the home is both a look back into the ways of life of centuries long past and also a look into early American history. It sits in downtown near the waterfront by Bicentennial Park; not far from the expansive World's Fair Park.
