Home to an internationally renowned preservation and breeding program, the zoo features more than 800 animals in re-created habitats, including black bears, elephants, giraffes and tigers. Known as the Red Panda Capital of the World, the zoo has enjoyed greatest success in breeding and survival of baby Red Pandas. It is located adjacent to Chilhowee Park Lake.
Open daily, year round Memorial Day- Labor Day: 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Rest of year: Weekdays 9:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.; Weekends 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
